Modified Unlimited (Mod U)

Sometimes raced by Formula 1 teams, the Mod U (Modified Unlimited) class is where raw horsepower is king and anything goes. When these boats explode off the dock with an unforgettable roar, fans go crazy. Mod U racecraft are lightning-fast on the straightway and take the turns at top speed. Any boat design is permissible; engine modifications are just fine. Mod Us are raced mostly in the Southeast, and at the OPC National Championships every year.

Requirements
Minimum Age: 
18 years old
Minimum Length:

Engine: 
2.5 Litre, 3.0 Litre, 3.4 Litre, 3.6 Litre V-6 and V-8 - Altered Motors Must be Originally Outboard
Speed: 
90 - 100 MPH (clocked at 142 MPH in kilo trials)
Minimum Weight: 
1050 lbs. to 1250 lbs. depending on engine size
Hull: 
Any Design of boat including bottom, deck, cockpit, openings and seating arrangements are permissible as long as the boat meets Min Length.
